Seagull Artist Studio Concert CH Sunburst

Instrument Categories: ,

Here’s a lovely new guitar from Robert Godin’s Seagull Guitar line. The Seagull Artist Studio Concert CH – or Concert Herringbone – sunburst acoustic comes equipped with an LR Baggs Element pickup fed to an endpin jack.

Based on an M-style or 0000 size body, the Seagull Artist Studio CH features a solid spruce top with adirondack spruce bracing, solid rosewood back, sides and headplate, mahogany neck, and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. A mother of pearl seagull inlay marks the twelfth fret. To dress it up, herringbone is used to bind the top and as both the rosette and backstrip.

An LR Baggs Element pickup system is installed, with the controls tucked inside the bass side of the soundhole. The tuners are sealed and gold-toned, with creme ivoroid buttons. The nut and saddle are Tusq for trouble-free tuning. The scale length is 25.5 inches, and the nut width 1.75 inches. Then, this is all wrapped in a high-gloss sunburst finish for the top and clear for the back and sides; the neck is a satin finish to reduce stickiness.

Tonally, this guitar displays all the great qualites of the Concert body size. There’s plenty of volume and projection, the tone is even and balanced with full but not overwhelming bass, well-represented midrange, and sparkling trebles.
