Comments The Gretsch Electromatic models are really exceptional instruments. Taking strong cues from Gretsch’s 612x ‘Pro’ line, these high-quality guitars are completely ready for use at a gig or session.

The G5122DC model is closer to the G6122II, an updated version of the 6122 Country Gentleman. One of the key differences between the 6122 and 6122II is the neck joint; on the 6122II model the heel starts at the 15th fret, while on the 6122 it starts at the 12th fret.

As on most Gretsch hollowbodies and other archtop instruments, the bridge base ‘floats’: it isn’t affixed to the guitar top. Usually this is not a problem, but if you have a vigorous playing style, a little bow rosin on the bridge base will keep it from sliding.
