John Page Classic Ashburn Guitar - The Twelfth Fret

John Page Classic Ashburn Guitar – Daphne Blue (Pictured here)

The Ashburn Guitar from John Page is a uniquely familiar guitar with classic lines and some subtle yet impactful features.

John Page has 40 years of guitar building experience including co- founding and leading the Fender Custom Shop and building instruments for Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, and Pete Townshend. He set out to design a guitar with richer more complex tones and effortless playability. John feels the neck interaction with the body in addition to the chosen materials and electronics are critical in achieving this.

John Page Classic Ashburn Guitar Features Bloodline JP-1 Single Coil Pickups

Upon first look at the Ashburn guitar one might think you are just looking at another strat style guitar, however there are some cool features going on that make a big different.  The neck joins the body by a four threaded bolt neck assembly which provides better tone transfer and the contoured neck heel feels wonderful as you reach to access the upper frets. The medium C shape neck grip is familiar and comfortable and the satin finish on the back of the neck provides a silky smooth playing experience.

The Ashburn features Bloodline JP-1 single coil pickups which were designed from the ground up to match this guitar and duplicate its specific acoustic tonal character.  John was looking to create a full stringy harp like tone with full midrange, healthy bottom end and sparkling highs without shrill ice pick like frequencies. The other thing you may notice is the bridge pickup is slanted in the reverse direction to what most players are used to. This tightens up the bass response and smooths out the trebles in your bridge positon. Once you try this configuration you may wonder where it has been all your life!

All John Page Classic guitars are assembled in Japan to his exacting standards then set up in the US by John Page authorized techs to provide a true custom production guitar.
