Rickenbacker introduced the 4001 bass in 1961 as an improved version of their first bass, the 4000 (introduced in 1957). The 4001 sported the same distinctive ‘crested wave’ body shape, but added a neck pickup and the cast bridge with built-in adjustable mute.

On display here is a very rare Pierre Rene Lacote Heptachorde circa 1840. Rene Lacote of Paris, Master Luthier of the Paris school of guitar makers was one of the most influential makers of the early nineteenth century. Today his guitars are sought after by both collectors and performers. Past guitarists who played guitars by Lacote include Ferdinando Carulli, Fernando Sor, Dionisio Aguado and Matteo Carcassi.

1989 Black Fender DAquisto Elite Archtop (consignment) SOLD

As the last of the legendary John D’Angelico’s apprentices, James ‘Jimmy’ D’Aquisto produced some of the best, most sought after – and most expensive – archtop guitars ever made. In a 1994 agreement with Fender, Fender built D’Aquisto Elite archtops at their Terada plant in Japan. These guitars were re-issued between 1989 and 1994. This 1989 Black Fender DAquisto Elite Archtop is in pristine condition, and the black finish is quite rare.
