We don’t see these very often, but here’s a fine example of a very influential guitar – a 1990 Gibson Chet Atkins CE Solidbody Classical. The late, great and greatly lamented Chet Atkins was responsible for not only great music, but a number of musical innovations. Given his many performances over decades, under a very wide range of conditions, it’s not surprising that he often sought out ways to control or prevent feedback at stage volumes.

This guitar is completely original and in remarkably clean condition. Though the Estudio guitars, often called “tourist guitars” don’t have the high value of the Maestro- built Conde Hermanos guitars, this guitar is a gem!

Here’s a very nice Blackface 1965 Fender Super Reverb Amplifier.

The term ‘Blackface’ refers to the black panel with white script lettering, used on Fender amplifiers between 1964 and 1967. They were preceded by ‘Brownface’ models and followed by ‘Silverface’. During the ‘Blackface’ period – in 1965 – CBS purchased Fender, but the new management made no changes to the amps until 1967, and those changes are seen in the ‘Silverface’ amps.
