Today we are featuring a new guitar from builder Chris Lounsbury from Hamilton Ontario. This flat top has a cool blend of traditional and unique features which make for a compelling instrument. This dreadnought body has a slightly smaller waist which provides a more comfortable playing experience while sitting down. The combination of Sitka spruce and walnut has lots of volume with a deep low end and crisp trebles to support an aggressive flat picking attack. Walnut has a similar density and stiffness to koa with a more present midrange somewhere between mahogany and rosewood. The light french polish finish allows the top to more freely and produce more tone. The red purfling and ebony body binding give a subtle frame to this lovely set of walnut. This a great looking and sounding guitar!!
