Martin M-38 1980 (Consignment) NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Serial Number 420528
Pricing No longer available
Neck Mahogany neck, ebony fret board, minor fret wear, modern low profile neck shape.
Body M or 0000 body shape, Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back, ebony bridge, abalone rosette, some wear on the edge of the sound hole, small crack in the bridge along the bridge pins. The bridge has been replaced with factory Martin “oversized” bridge. Slightly shaved with shallow neck angle but still perfectly playable.

As well, an oversized bridge plate has been installed which explains why the top has almost no visible belly; unusual for a guitar from this period

Finish Minor lacquer checking and dings on the top.
Hardware/electronics Martin tuners, 1/4″ end pin jack with no pickup.
Comments The M body shape from Martin provides a bit more volume and bass response than a typical OM or 000. This example is in decent shape and comes with an older arched top hardshell case.
Note: Borderline neck set: plays fine in lower positions but action measures 6/64 treble to 8/64 bass side…on the high side with little remaining saddle for adjustment.
