The Gibson L-00 was a very popular guitar. Introduced in 1931 and built until 1945, in 1932 the L-00 was priced at $25.

Usually, the Gibson L-00 was built with a spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, with rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. This example has an unusual mahogany top, and the top and back are bound - the back binding dates it to after mid 1936.

Built during the later 1930's, this Gibson L-00 has had some repairs and is now in rather good playing condition. There have been crack repairs to the top, the bridge has been off and replaced (with some reshaping), the pickguard is new, it's had the all-important neck reset and been refretted.

With its repairs and its use, this guitar plays well and has a very nice sound. Played fingerstyle, the bass is right there with well-represented mids and sparkling trebles.
