S/N: 70623, dates to 1964 and the Gibson Kalamazoo plant.
In the days when giant archtops ruled the earth, Epiphone was one of the kings. Guitars like the Epiphone Triumph were seen on stages wherever volume was required.

The Epiphone Triumph appeared in 1931 as a non-cutaway, 16 3/8 inch wide, 25.5 inch scale length acoustic archtop guitar competing with the Gibson L-7. In 1948, the Epiphone Triumph Regent appeared as a cutaway version, and in 1958 the non-cutaway Triumph disappeared - but at the same time, the Triumph Regent became the Triumph and the Regent name was dropped. Production ceased in 1969.

This is a 1964 Epiphone Triumph, built at the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This example has had a 'New Yorker' style mini-humbucking pickup installed to the top, with a single volume and tone control. This addition was done decades ago when the guitar was quite new, and the guitar has been played since; fretwear is moderate to heavy on original fretwire. Overall, the condition is quite good with just a few small dents. There is a stain on the top which could be from being stored with a strap.

This is a very nice guitar to play, with a very comfortable neck and moderately sized body. The original Epiphone hardshell case is included.
