S/N: 3204, built during 1987 at the Stelling Banjo Works in Afton, Virginia, USA.
Here's something unusual - a Stelling Bellflower 5-string banjo, custom ordered during 1987 in Maple rather than Virgina Black Walnut to provide a brighter, crisper tone. The Maple is stained to bring the visual effect towards natural unstained Walnut. The Bellflower is one of the most popular Stelling banjos.

Along with the maple construction, there is an Ebony fretboard. A Centrifugally cast tone ring and flange are fitted to Stelling’s own massive 3/4 inch thick, 3 ply maple rim.

This banjo is in good playing condition and has just been serviced by Grant MacNeill, with a fret dress and polish and new head. It has been used as intended, so there is wear to the finish and plating. A non-original Everest hardshell case is included.
