This 2004 Gibson SG 1961 Reissue was completed in Nashville on December 21, 2004. It's plays very well and cleanly, but is not entirely original. Most visibly, an aftermarket reproduction of the Maestro Vibrola has been installed - these are very similar and basically lack the lyre engraving on the cover. The original tailpiece studs are in place, but covered, and the stop tailpiece is in the case. It has had a headstock crack repair; this was professionally done, with limited touchup. It's quite solid.
This guitar plays very well, and the Vibrola tailpiece actually improves its balance. Played in a seated position, it is neither head or tail heavy, and just rests on the leg. The Vibrola adds a Bigsby-like shimmer, and the guitar stays in tune pretty well.
The original hardshell TKL Gibson case is included.
