S/N: 19241, built during 2011 at the Collings shop in Austin, Texas.
Named after the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, the Collings CW Indian A features Indian Rosewood back and sides and an Adirondack Spruce top. It is based on the standard Collings dreadnought, but modified specifically for bluegrass. Everything about this model is designed to provide plenty of headroom and projection for aggressive playing, but not at the expense of good tone.
Built in 2011, this Colling sCW Indian A is in near mint condition, with very light natural lacquer sinking. The nut is 1 23/32 inch, with string spacing at the bridge of 2 1/4 inches. The ebony fingerboard is plain, with no position markers on the board itself. It has a large soundhole, a 'Dalmatian'-style celluloid pickguard, and pre-war style, forward-shifted scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing. A non-original Taylor hardshell case is included.
