Emmett Chapman introduced the Chapman Stick in the early 1970's, and a few variations like this 12-string Mobius Megatar Toneweaver have appeared as people find ways to refine the Chapman concept without infringing his patents.

Megatars are now built by Megatar in Mt. Shasta, California, but were originally built by Mobius Megatar in Weed, California. The new models are refined versions of this example.

This is the top of the line Mobius Megatar - the Toneweaver model, licensing both Ralph Novak's Fanned Fret design and the Buzz Feiten offset intonation system. It has two Bartolini humbucking pickups, one for each set of strings, and each saddle has a piezo pickup element.

Check out the video for an example of what the Megatar is capable of.

The patented three-point strap is included, but there is no case.

Visit the Megatar site and learn more about the current versions of this fascinating instrument!
