The Collings OM1 is based on the classic, proven Orchestra Model style introduced in the 1920's by Martin. It was intended to provide more volume, and preceded the popularity of the Dreadnought body design which was actually introduced as a Ditson guitar, made by Martin, in 1916. The dreadnought has a more pronounced bass response, while the Orchestra Model is much more balanced and very well suited to fingerstle playing.
Built with Sitka spruce for the top, Mahogany for the back, sides and headplate, mahogany for the neck and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge, these guitars deliver tone, projection, and a great action. As an option, this guitar has a K&K pickup installed.
This instrument is all original and is in excellent condition, and comes with the original Collings case.
