Drawing on the aesthetics of laminated American Longboard surfboards, the limited edition Fender American Longboard Stratocaster HSS was built in 2015. A part of Fender's 10 for 15 promotion, the American Longboard was the instrument for October, 2015. 500 were built in total.
The American Longboard's oil finished laminated body catches the eye immediately. Unlike most stratocaster versions, the pickup and control cavities are routed from the back, leaving the top clean and uncluttered. The pickups are in an HSS configuration, with a new Fender Tim Shaw Shawbucker in the bridge position and N3 noiseless single coils in the neck and middle position. The bridge is fixed - this is a 'hard tail ' guitar.
This guitar is in excellent condition with light fretwear. The original hardshell case is included.
