I have to admit a bias - I'm a fan of the Gibson J-45 and how well its rich, warm tone matches the human voice. There's a reason this guitar is called the 'Workhorse'.

Introduced in 1942, the Gibson J-45 slope-shoulder dreadnought design rapidly became the instrument of choice for many guitarists. It's been in production since then, with some variations. Originally, it was only available with a sunburst top, and the 'natural' finish top was called the J-50. Now, it is shipped in a number of different finishes, but the traditional sunburst is the most popular. As always, the J-45 top is spruce and the sides, back and neck are mahogany with a 24.75 inch scale length rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge.

This Gibson J-45 was built in Bozeman, Montana and dates to April 7, 2015. It has been played, and so it is opening up nicely, but it also has some wear marks and a small, touched up dent on the top near the tail block.

As a modern Gibson guitar, it carries the L R Baggs Element pickup system, Grover Roto-Matic tuners, and has a 1 11/16 inch nut width. The original Gibson hardshell case is included.
