Old World craftsmanship is still found, and is represented in instruments like this Stonebridge OM21, built by Frantisek Furch in the Czech Republic.

Developing his skills as the former Soviet states declined, Frantisek Furch built a strong reputation for the guitars he built under his own name. To bring them to larger markets, however, the guitars were renamed Stonebridge, after the historic Charles Bridge in Prague. These new instruments have all the quality of the Furch models.

Seen here is a 2015 Stonebridge OM21SW, part of the Millenium series. Its body is built with a Spruce top, walnut for the back and sides, mahogany for the neck with rosewood for the headplate and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The scale length is 25.563 inches, and the nut width 45mm or 1.77 inches. The nut and saddle are Tusq for smooth tuning. The finish is gloss on the top, and satin on the other surfaces.

An L. R. Baggs / MISI pickup sustem is installed, with the charger included in the Hiscox case.

This guitar is in excellent condition, plays well and has a very nice tone. The walnut sides and back, a traditional tonewood, is warm and open and pairs well with the brightness and clarity of the spruce top.
