Here’s a very cool 1955 Fender Champ Amplifier. The Fender Champ was introduced as the Champion in 1948, when it represented a sizeable amount of power and volume, and discontinued in 1982, by which time it was completely overshadowed by stack-type amps with exponentially more power. Even ‘bedroom’ amps had power outputs in the double digits!
Originally producing 3 watts into an 6 inch speaker, the Champ gained its shortened name, the classic tweed covering, and a massive two more watts (for a total of 5!) in 1955. in 1958, another upgrade arrived with an 8 inch speaker.
This example is in good working order, with a changed speaker (still six inch!) and a switch added for an extension cabinet.
Serial Number: 5 02969, built during 1955 in Fullerton, California.
Pricing: $950.00 CAD.
