This is a lovely crossover banjo for a mix of bluegrass and old time finger style playing. At 8 lb it is about 4 to 5 pounds lighter than most flathead tone ring bluegrass banjos.

Serial Number 356963, built during 1965 at the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Pricing $1,795.00 CAD with late 1960’s Japanese hardshell case. SOLD
Neck Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard.
Frets Recently dressed by Grant.
Body Mahogany resonator, maple rim. Brass rod tone ring fitted to a Gibson Mastertone style 1 piece zinc flange.
Finish The finish is near perfect; it is rare to find one of these banjos that has not been mistreated and abused. Other than minor lacquer checking, this banjo is near mint.
Hardware/electronics All hardware, finish and tuners are original.
Playability/Action Set up and ready to go. Grant has installed a new head and dressed the frets.
Case Late 1960’s Japanese hardshell case included.
