Gibson L-5 CT, 2002 (consignment) SOLD

Comments This Gibson L-5 CT from 2002 could be your best friend if you’re headed to the (orchestra) pit. It’s in near perfect condition, and is just a joy to play.

The L-5 CT is based on the L-5 CES but is a ‘thinline’ version, with a side with of 2.25″. It features the same carved, tuned spruce top and carved flame maple back.

The lower label specifies that the guitar was tuned on November 4, 2002 by James W. Hutchins.

This example is in excellent condition, with just a little hardware tarnish.

Neck 3-section maple neck with multi-bound ebony fingerboard, and mother-of-pearl block markers.
Frets Original frets with little wear.
Body L-5 cutaway, thinline body. Carved spruce top, carved flame maple back, flame maple sides, multiple-layer binding around the top and back, bound F-holes.
Finish Translucent cherry nitrocellulose lacquer finish in excellent condition.
Hardware/electronics Gold plated hardware; gold Gibson-branded Schaller tuners, Dual humbucking pickups, individual volume and tone controls, pickup selector on rubber shock mount, gold L-5 tailpiece, ebony bridge.
Playability/Action This is just wonderful to play. There is of course plenty of room to move the action around as required, but it’s great as is.
