It’s that time of year again! Taylor Guitars has released their 2010 Fall Limited guitars, and they are a seriously beautiful bunch. The star of this fall’s show is Taylor’s new fingerboard inlays. Fine lines are laser etched on to the inlay pieced, creating some fantastic looking detail patterns. I had the opportunity to see these inlay pieces as they were under development during my visit to the Taylor factory this summer. I’ll post another link to the article covering the factory tour at the bottom of this page. For now, let’s take a closer look at each of the new Fall Limiteds!
Taylor 816ce-LTD
The 816ce-LTD features a Florentine cutaway, Sitka Spruce Top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, as well as Taylor’s new Engraved Victorian inlay pieces, available for the first time. Tonally, the 816ce-LTD is a light strummer’s dream. Clear trebles and a silky smooth bass response, and a rich midrange all add up to give the guitar a great amount of dimension and versatility.

Taylor 512ce-LTD
Can’t get enough Koa? Me neither! The 512ce-LTD adds a beautiful Koa back and side wood set to the traditional 512 design. As a result, this guitar has the balance and clarity you would expect from any Taylor 512, but with a little extra chime in the high-mids. The lower register is tight and well defined, with a full, clear sustain. The 512ce-LTD also features Taylor’s new “Engraved Pipeline” fingerboard inlay; a different design than the other 2010 Fall Limiteds.

Taylor 810-LTD
The 810ce-LTD is the heavy hitter of the bunch. In classic Taylor fashion, this guitar delivers great power with plenty of punch under a heavy strum, but with the clear definition all Taylor dreadnoughts are known for. Setting the 810ce-LTD apart from a standard 810 is an extra deep lower bout, as well as the Engraved Victorian fingerboard inlay.
