❌SOLD❌ 65 Amps Tupelo 20-Watt 1×12 Combo, 2010

Brand:

The 65 Amps Tupelo is a 20 watt, single 12 inch combo amp based on a pair of 6V6 tubes and 12AX7 preamp tubes. built in the USA.

The Tupelo is designed to improve on classic 6V6 American amps, like the Fender Deluxe and Gibson GA-20. This tube provides about half the power of the 6L6, so it’s great when lower volume is designed. Extra gain and tone control stages not found on the early amps have been added to meet the needs of modern players. While this is a 20 watt amp, its speaker is a 30 watt Celestion G12H 70th anniversary model.

This example of 65 Amps Tupelo production is in very clean condition, and works well.   Its original footswitch is included.

65 Amps operates out of North Hollywood, California. They design and build hand-wired tube guitar and bass amplifiers, and matching speaker cabinets.

Founded by guitarist Peter Stroud and amp designer Dan Boul, 65 Amps began with addressing a new stage requirement faced by Stroud while playing with Sheryl Crow.

In a reversal of the historical trend for ever higher volumes, Stroud required a full, rich sound at lower volumes.

The resulting designs led to a series of amps targeted at professional musicians who need the tone that comes from a tube amp with a speaker but not volume levels that can interfere with house sound or recording.
