SOLD!!! Fender GB Hot Rod Deluxe™ III George Benson Gray-Black, 2013

The Fender GB Hot Rod Deluxe III – GB for George Benson – first appeared in 2012 as a variation of the standard Hot Rod Deluxe (HRD).

The Fender Hot Rod series launched in 1996, consisting of versions of the Deville, Deluxe, Blues Junior and Pro Junior amps. These amps are all still in production and regular use in all contexts – home, stage and studio. The larger Hot Rod Deluxe (40 watts, 1×12) and Deville (60 watts, 2×12) models offer Pre-Amp out and Power Amp In jacks on the control panel, allowing use of external effects after the power amp stage, particularly modulation or time based effects.

Delivering 40-watts, the Fender GB Hot Rod Deluxe III carries an all-tube preamp with a solid state rectifier for the power section and a single 12-inch Jensen C12K speaker in a pine cabinet. As the George Benson model, it has a special gray-black covering and silver-strand grille cloth and GB logo on the front.

This example has a date code of 21st January 2013 and was built, like the vast majority of Fender’s amps, in Ensenada Mexico. It’s in great shape with no signs of being used on the road, such as significant rips or tears to the covering or grille cloth. There is slight wear to the covering on the bottom front rail of the amp case.

Sold without cover or case, though soft dust covers are available from Fender and third party suppliers; these are a good thing to have.
