Here is a lovely Hermanos Camps Primera Flamenco Blanca Guitar, built in Porqueres Spain during 2021 and in very good, clean condition. Hermanos Camps is run by the Camps brothers Jordi and Javier, succeeding their father Juan who started building guitars in Porqueres – about 120km northeast of Barcelona – in 1945. They offer a full range of classical and flamenco models in two lines – the Guterres Camps Models and the Hermanos Camps Signature Models.
Cypress
Built during 2019 in Toronto, this William Laskin Flamenco Blanca guitar features a Spruce top, Cypress for the sides and back and Spanish Cedar for the body blocks and neck. The head plate and fingerboard are Ebony, and the bridge is Indian Rosewood. The rosette combines Laskin’s traditional mosaic pattern with two rings of Abalone or similar shell – subtle and attractive.
The Ramirez Model 1a Tradicional, seen here with a Red Cedar top, has been a benchmark of top quality classical and flamenco guitars for over half a century. The 1a designation technically refers to the quality of the materials and workmanship, but has become associated with the Tradicional model.
