This Sergei de Jonge Steel String Guitar pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Padauk for the sides, back, head plate, backstrap and rosette. Built during 2018 in Chelsea Quebec, it is in very good, clean condition, and delivers a full, rich and complex sound. Like many guitars from the de Jonge shops, this model has a French Polish finish, providing protection to the woods with a minimal imposition on the guitar’s vibration.

Collings MT A-Style Mandolin Gloss Top Sunburst, 2006

The Collings MT A-Style mandolin is the entry point for Collings mandolins, and its lack of decoration doesn’t hide the quality of the instrument or the care with which it was built. This 2006 model sports a satin finish with the ‘Gloss Top’ option, and an ebony arm-rest. The A-Style mandolin appeared in the closing days of the 19th century as part of Orville Gibson’s revolutionary introduction of violin making principles to mandolin construction.

With an official launch in October 2020, the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Black Beauty was based on a classic 1958 Les Paul Custom. In 1957, three of Gibson’s then-new humbucking pickups replaced the P-90 and Alnico V ‘Staple Top’ pickup set of previous Customs. From its introduction in 1954 until the 1961 redesign, the Les Paul Custom had a major difference from the other carved-top Les Pauls hidden under the gloss black finish.

The Gibson Super 400 strode above most others when giant archtops roamed the earth, and is still one of the largest production guitars made. Making its introduction in 1934 as the ‘Super L-5 Deluxe’, the non-cutaway model was quickly joined by a cutaway model, initially named the Super 400 P for ‘Premiere’. The ‘400’ designation was originally a reference to the price.
