❌SOLD❌ Music Man Sabre Bass Sunburst, 1978

Here’s a rarity and bit of history – a Music Man Sabre Bass, built during 1978 in Fullerton, California by CLF Research for Music Man. CLF stood for Clarence Leo Fender. Music Man was founded in 1974 and in 1975, Leo Fender’s non-compete agreement lapsed and he became president of Music Man. Until 1979, Music Man guitars and basses were built by Leo’s other company, CLF Research. After 1979 and until Music Man folded in 1984, Grover Jackson built the bodies and necks and assembled the instruments.

Introduced in 2003 and still in production, the Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 HH Bass features active electronics for its pair of humbucking pickups. However, it is considerably more advanced and available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions, all with 24 frets. These are very versatile, reliable basses with a huge range.
