The Eastman MD815-V F-Style F-Hole Mandolin is one of the most recognisable mandolin designs, based on the groundbreaking work of Orville Gibson in the late part of the 19th century, blending traditional mandolin and violin construction principles. The F-Style mandolin has become one of the benchmark instruments for country, bluegrass, celtic, and traditional music forms. And, if you take a listen to Chris Thile, they can do Bach to the full potential of the player. Closely related to the Eastman MD814-V model, the F soundhole and its enhanced treble attack tilts the Eastman MD815-V towards Bluegrass and Country repertoires, compared to the F-holes on the MD815/V.

The Cole Clark Violap is based on the classic Weissenborn steel guitar body shape, but built as a semi-hollow for amplified use without feedback. The concept is similar to the thinline Gibson ES-335 series, with a solid center block in an arched-top body. Cole Clark was founded in 2001 by Adam Cole and Bradley Clark in Melbourne Australia, and focuses on building quality instruments using sustainably harvested tone woods mostly native to Australia.

❌ Sold❌ Eastman MD615 F-Style Mandolin Sunburst, 2010

This Eastman MD615 F-Style mandolin dates to 2010 based on its serial number, and is in very clean condition. The top is carved Spruce, and the back is carved Flame Maple. The sides and neck are also Flame Maple, and the bound fingerboard is Ebony. The bridge and head plate are also Ebony. It has a few small chips around the edges, particularly at the top end of the headstock – this is a vulnerable spot for this type of head. For the most part the finish is very clean and unmarked.
