This Kenny Hill Curva Negra Crossover was built in Hill’s Felton, California workshop during 2005 and features a Hauser-influenced cutaway body. The guitar has a Bearclaw-figured Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for sides, back headplate and bridge.

The New World P640S – from the Player series with a 640mm scale length and Spruce top is a classical guitar designed by and built under Kenny Hill’s supervision in China. This high quality instrument is aimed at the serious student or working professional guitarist. The Player series is available with longer scale lengths and with a Red Cedar top. This New World P640S was built during 2020, is in very good, clean and original condition and sports an option on the Player series models – a pair of sound ports, visible on either side of the heel.

This example features an European Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood for the bridge, sides, back and head plate, Spanish Cedar (Cedro, or Cedrella Odorata) for the body blocks and neck, with Ebony for the fingerboard. The 6-hole bridge tie block is capped with ivoroid, and at the head Alessi H12 Hauser style tuners are installed.

Antonio de Torres was born on 13 June 1817 in Almería, Andalucía, At 12 in 1829 he began an apprenticeship to a carpenter. In 1833 he was conscripted into an army, but was rejected for medical reasons.
