❌SOLD❌Fender Jazz Bass Natural, 1973

The Fender Jazz Bass made its appearance in 1960 as Fender’s second major bass design after the two versions of the Precision Bass.  Targeted towards the Jazz players still using acoustic instruments, the Jazz Bass offered a punchy, focused tone and a narrow fast fingerboard. Offered with either a Maple or Rosewood fingerboard, this instrument was built until 1981 when it was replaced by the Standard Jazz Bass. The Fender Jazz Bass uses the same proven and highly reliable design concept as other Fender instruments – a Maple neck bolted to an Ash or Alder body.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Jazz Bass Natural Refinish, 1966

Here is a Fender Jazz Bass Natural refinish, with body and neck built towards the end of 1965 but assembled, wired and sold in early 1966. The Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960, as Leo Fender’s second distinct bass after the two versions of the Precision Bass. Targeted towards Jazz players and taking design cues from the then-new Jazzmaster and Jaguar models, particularly the offset body, the Jazz Bass offered a brighter, more focused tone with less fundamental than the Precision Bass along with a much narrower neck.

❌SOLD❌ Fender American Vintage ’72 Telecaster Custom Reissue Sunburst, 2012

❌SOLD❌ Fender American Vintage '72 Telecaster Custom Reissue Sunburst, 2012

The Fender American Vintage 72 Telecaster recreates a version of the Telecaster built from 1972 to 1981, a major change from the Tele Custom introduced in 1959. For 1959 with the introduction of Rosewood fingerboards, Fender introduced an ‘upmarket’ Telecaster Custom, with the new Rosewood board and a body with binding around the top and back. The rest of the guitar was standard Telecaster. However, by 1972, Fender Marketing was feeling pressured because of its close association with thin and bright single coil pickups, while Gibson was almost synonymous with fat sounding humbuckers.

❌SOLD❌ Fender '62 Reissue Jazz Bass Olympic White, 1988

Here we have a Fender ’62 Reissue Jazz Bass in Olympic White and with gold hardware and original style concentric controls, built during 1988 in Corona, California. Introduced in 1960, Leo Fender’s Jazz Bass sought to win over the bass players who hadn’t yet adopted his Precision Bass and still played upright acoustic instruments. His thought was that the narrower neck and brighter pickups would appeal to jazz artists.
