Part of the Recording Series, the Larrivee OM 03R draws from the classic Orchestra Model design introduced in the early 1930s to aid the great shift to guitar by banjo players. The Larrivee OM 03R is built using traditional materials including a Sitka Spruce top with Herringbone purfling and rosette, Indian Rosewood for the back sides and head plate, Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. The body binding is Maple while, in this period, the fingerboard binding is grained ivoroid. The finish is natural satin.

SOLD! Larrivee OM03 Austrian Walnut Steel String Guitar

The Larrivee OM03 Austrian Walnut is a limited edition guitar from the recording series featuring an Austrian Walnut sides and back on the popular orchestra size body. Walnut as a tone wood tends to have a bright top end similar to Indian rosewood but with more midrange push. The combination of bright top end and more present midrange warmth puts this tone wood in between rosewood and mahogany.

❌SOLD❌ Tony Duggan Smith Mystic Short Scale Archtop Blonde, 1995

Here is a treat – a Tony Duggan Smith Mystic, a short scale (21.89 inch, 556mm) cutaway archtop built during 1995 at Duggan-Smith’s Toronto shop. Tony Duggan-Smith has been around the Canadian arts music and film scene for decades.  He was a member of the Pukka Orchestra and Neotone after apprenticing with Jean Larrivee and leading the repair department at Ring Music, then run by Bill Wagner and Michael McLuhan (yes that McLuhan.),  and has also over a decade of work in the film industry.  One of his current projects is the Apprehension Engine, an instrument specifically designed for use in horror films.

The Larrivee LV19 Special Vine Edition was built only during 2002, in a run of fifty instruments featuring a spectacular engraved ‘tree of life’ vine inlay. Here we’re looking at a Larrivee LV19 Special Vine Edition, dating to September 10, 2002 and built at the then-new Larrivee shop in Oxnard, California. The LV-19 is now a discontinued model, but the “LV” indicated the classically-derived Larrivee body while the “19” denotes a step up from the “09” trim, adding Rosewood binding.
