Harrison GB Custom Redwood Burl Top, 2017

Here is a lovely Harrison GB Custom Redwood Burl top thinline archtop, built in Toronto during 2017 and based on a design for the late jazz artist Gary Benson. Douglas Harrison has been building arched top guitars for some years now and his GB Custom has been very popular, with most I have seen being true custom models, with varying tops and hardware configurations.

Harrison GB Spruce Top Thinline Archtop Amber Tint, 2007

This Harrison GB Spruce top thinline archtop electric in a lovely Amber tint, built during 2008 at Harrison’s shop in Toronto, Canada. The Douglas Harrison GB thinline archtop guitar has proven very popular with jazz guitarists. Designed with – and originally for – the late Gary Benson and built in Toronto, Ontario, the Harrison GB uses a carved solid spruce top on a chambered back. The neck has a compound radius, from 12 to 16 inches.

Sold‼ Alastair Miller Barncaster, Rosewood on Barnboard 2018

The Miller Barncaster is a take on the classic Tele design appearing in a number of variations. This Alastair Miller Barncaster, Rosewood on Barn board model was created in Alastair Miller’s shop using a barnboard core capped with Indian Rosewood and a Cocobolo neck, and custom wound Miller Pig Farmer pickups. The bridge pickup measures 7.4K ohms, the bridge 8.5K ohms. The other components are also top quality CTS pots with vintage era cap, and Switchcraft jack and switch. The pickguard is lacquered Bakelite.

G. W. Barry M body Cutaway Guitar, 1995

G W Barry has been building fine steel strings for some time, and this M-body cutaway dates to 1995 at his shop in Toronto. Built with a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back sides and headplate, with mahogany for the neck and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge, maple binding and an abalone rosette, this guitar is in very nice condition.

Larrivee OM 09 Steel String Guitar, 1999

The Larrivee OM 09 is based on the classic ‘Orchestra Model’ design dating to 1929, and is itself based on the 000 body size but with the upper bouts adapted to accommodate a 14-fret neck. At first, this model was named after Perry Bechtel, the prominent banjo player who custom ordered it; however, Martin soon realized that ‘Orchestra Model’ had better appeal to migrating banjo players, and never used the Bechtel name in catalogs.

An entirely new model in a unique yet functional shape, the Backline Ronan is a straight ahead rock guitar with just what’s needed. Tim Ronan builds guitars a bit north west of Toronto, and has been developing unique models that put function and durability first. The eponymous Backline Ronan is the result of a number of experiments with angular bodies, looking for a mixture of appearance, comfort, balance and light weight.
