❌SOLD❌ Guild X170 Manhattan Archtop Electric Sunburst, 2001

❌SOLD❌ Guild X170 Manhattan Archtop Electric Sunburst, 2001

The Guild X170 Manhattan was built at the Guild plant in Westerly, Rhode Island from 1995 until 2001 when Fender relocated the shop to Tacoma, Washington. Conceived as a jazz box, where function is key but classy looks are important, the X-170 Manhattan met all its targets. This Guild X170 Manhattan is in very nice, clean condition and plays really well.  Wear is very minor, and the usual first-worn spots – the bass end of the bridge and treble pickups, where one would rest on or touch the plating – don’t show much evidence of use.   Fret wear is very light and mostly limited to the first position.

❌SOLD❌ Flatiron F5 Custom Mandolin Blackburst, 1996

The Flatiron F5 was a take on one of the most influential mandolin designs, the Gibson F5, designed by Lloyd Loar and introduced in 1922. Loar built on Orville Gibson’s groundbreaking blending of violin, mandolin and guitar design concepts that produced the first archtop fretted instruments. Flatiron was started by Chuck Morrison, and in 1978 purchased by Steve Carson, who soon hired Ren Ferguson.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Anniversary 6124 Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1963

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Anniversary 6124 Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1963

Originally built between 1958 and 1972, the Gretsch Anniversary 6124 was the Sunburst version of the two-tone 6125 model, both based on the successful 6120 Chet Atkins model. In its first two years, the Anniversary 6124/6125 carried a single Filter ‘Tron humbucking pickup at the neck, but from 1961 a single coil Hi-Lo ‘Tron was used. The basic structure or bones of the Gretsch Anniversary 6124 is very similar to the 6120, with a fully hollow, 16 inch wide body using parallel tone bar bracing and no sound post.

❌SOLD❌ Eastman MD904D Two Point Mandolin Natural, 2010

❌SOLD❌ Eastman MD904D Two Point Mandolin Natural, 2010

The Eastman MD904D Two Point oval hole mandolin follows the modified A Style or ‘teardrop’ pioneered by Orville Gibson around 1900. This model perhaps most resembles the Gibson A5 two point, built from 1957 to 1979.   As an oval hole model, it will have a somewhat warmer tone compared to the percussive ‘chop’ of an F-hole model.  Featuring a solid, carved Sitka Spruce top paired with carved, solid Flame Maple back, with matching Flamed Maple for the sides and neck and binding, and with gold plated hardware, this Eastman MD904D Two Point was built during 2010 near Beijing and is in good shape with minor wear.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul 1959 Historic Vintage Sunburst, 2009

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul 1959 Historic Vintage Sunburst, 2009

The Gibson Les Paul 1959 Historic aims to be an accurate re-creation of the classic and influential 1959 Les Paul Standard. The Les Paul model was introduced in 1952, but was not particularly successful. In 1958, the line was updated to include Gibson’s new humbucking pickups, and sunburst finishes instead of Black (the Custom) or the Gold Top. The shift to sunburst, a translucent finish, meant that the Maple top had to be a higher grade. The rest of the guitar was the same – Maple cap on a Mahogany slab body, with Mahogany for the neck and Rosewood for the fingerboard.
