Here we have a C F Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 Steel String Acoustic Guitar. The Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 guitars are based on the most sought after pre-WW2 D-28 models. These instruments have hand-scalloped forward shifted X braces and Adirondack spruce tops. Madagascar Rosewood takes the place of Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides, with traditional mahogany necks and ebony fingerboard and bridge.

This is a rare 1932 Martin OM-18 Sunburst. During 1932, the C. F. Martin guitar company produced 3,000 instruments in total. The OM-18 features the Orchestra Model body, with a tighter waist and slightly narrower bouts than the Dreadnought design. It’s also sometimes known as the 000 size.

The D-35 has been a key part of the Martin line since 1965. The early models used Brazilian rosewood, but export and import restrictions moved Martin towards Indian rosewood. Now, Madagascar rosewood is available and has many of the tonal and aesthetic characteristics of Brazilian – a little more brilliance than Indian.
