The Fender Jazzmaster appeared halfway through 1958, targeted at jazz artists, the group Fender hadn’t fully won over. One of the key features of the Fender Jazzmaster was the introduction of a Rosewood fingerboard on the Maple neck. To this point in time, Fender necks had been a single piece of Maple with a rear Walnut ‘Skunk Stripe’ covering the truss rod channel.
Here we’re looking at a very nice Fender Jaguar Offset body guitar in its original 3-tone sunburst. It’s in largely original condition and has been professionally re-fretted and set up – it’s ready to go! This example dates to 1964, with pot codes from that year, and was built at the Fender plant in Fullerton, California. It’s a Pre-CBS model, built before the sale of Fender to CBS which took effect on January 5, 1965.

Here is a real rarity, a one-owner since new Fender Jazzmaster Sunburst, built during 1960 at the Fender plant in Fullerton, California. This Fender Jazzmaster Sunburst, in all original condition and with original case, strap and trem arm is in overall good condition with the wear expected after six decades of use. The nitrocellulose lacquer sunburst finish has natural sinking and some small dents, dings and some pick marks, while the neck finish is worn particularly on the bass side lower positions where the player’s thumb rested.
