⚌Reduced‼ Gibson PB3 Plectrum Banjo, 1927

⚌Reduced‼ Gibson PB3 Plectrum Banjo, 1927

Built largely with Maple, the Gibson PB3 used solid Maple for the neck and pot, and Laminate Maple, stained Mahogany, for the Resonator. The fingerboard is Rosewood – and at the time, even though this was an ‘entry level’ instrument, that meant Brazilian Rosewood. The classic inlay set is executed in Mother of Pearl, with the engraved MASTERTONE block at the next to last fret. All the original hardware is present, including the Grover pancake tuners.

Deering Boston 5-String Banjo, 2007

Deering Boston 5-String Banjo, 2007

The Deering Boston 5-String Banjo was one of Deering’s earlier original designs and aimed to deliver the tonal effects of a quality heavy wood rim and tone ring at a significantly lower price. To do this, Deering uses a rolled steel rim with a mass equivalent to the traditional components. As well, traditional Banjo style planetary tuners have been replaced with standard guitar-type tuners.

❌SOLD❌ National Style 1 Tricone Resophonic Guitar, 1929

This National Style 1 Tricone has a 12-fret ‘Spanish’ or round neck and dates to 1929, and was built at the National shop in Los Angeles. All of these guitars had 12-fret necks until 1934, at which point the influence of banjo players migrating to guitar prompted an industry shift to 14-fret necks. This guitar is in good condition and is fully playable – it has just been serviced at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop, with a neck reset, fret dress, setup, brace repair and new cones.

Paramount Leader Tenor Banjo, 1924

Paramount Leader Tenor Banjo, 1924

The Paramount Leader Tenor Banjo was produced from 1922 to 1935 by William Lange and company in New York City, and was one of the most popular mid-range, professional grade banjos available. Here we’re looking at a Paramount Leader Tenor banjo, likely built in 1924 – the serial number is not far from another known 1924 leader, and Paramount was building and selling a lot of instruments at that time. It features Indian Rosewood construction, for the neck, rim and resonator.

Deering White Lotus 5 String Banjo White Oak

Deering White Lotus 5 String Banjo White Oak

The Deering White Lotus 5-String Banjo by Deering is a resonator back model with no exotic woods, just White Oak and Maple. The bluegrass inspired White Lotus banjo, named for its lotus flower inspired inlay pattern, is centered around the patented white oak rim. Notably lacking a traditional heavy tone ring, the natural white oak rim closely recreates a bright, crisp bluegrass punch, ushering in a new era in playing comfort and sound for today’s banjo player.
