❌SOLD❌ Martin 00028 Steel String Guitar, 1924

This is a rare treat – a Martin 00028 steel string guitar, one of 20 produced during 1924. It plays well and has a fantastic sound! Martin introduced the Style 28 some unknown time before it appeared in their 1874 price list. The 000 body size appeared around 1902, with one built, two during 1904 and one in 1905; from 1910 to 1918, a maximum of four were built per year.

❌SOLD❌ Martin D12 20 12 String Guitar Natural, 1968

❌SOLD❌ Martin D12 20 12 String Guitar Natural, 1968

The Martin D12 20 was a slope shouldered, 12-fret 12 string guitar built from 1964 to 1991 with a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany for the sides, back and neck. Here we’re looking at a Martin D12 20 dating to February of 1968 and built at the Martin plant in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. As a ’20’ model, it is very close to an ’18’ and the key differentiating component is the ‘zipper’ back strip. The top is Sitka Spruce – Adirondack Spruce had been overharvested during WW2 and it would still be decades for recovery. The sides, back, and slotted-headstock neck are Honduran Mahogany and, by the time this post-1967 guitar was built, Indian Rosewood was used for the head plate, bridge and unbound fingerboard.

SOLD Taylor 322ce 12 Fret Grand Concert Guitar Edgeburst

SOLD Taylor 322ce 12 Fret Grand Concert Guitar Edgeburst

The Taylor 322ce 12 fret is a very comfortable small bodied guitar with a dark and earthy vibe. This guitar features a Tropical mahogany top and Tasmanian Blackwood sides and back. Both wood sets have a darker complexion and the shaded edge burst finish along with the black pickguard and body binding really tie the whole package together. The Grand Concert body shape of the Taylor 322ce 12 fret is compact and comfortable but still produces a good amount of volume for a small guitar. The blackwood provides a meaty midrange with a little bit of treble sparkle and the mahogany top smooths out the overall tonal range with some natural compression.
