❌SOLD❌ Gretsch 6071 Hollowbody Bass Walnut, 1968

Built from 1968 to 1972, the Gretsch 6071 bass is a thin hollow body bass, using Gretsch’s sealed ElectroTone body and a one Super ‘Tron type bass pickup. It’s closely related to the dual pickup 6073 bass built to 1971, most famously used by Peter Tork with the Monkees. Here we’re looking at an early and largely original Gretsch 6071 bass, built in 1968, its first year of production at the Brooklyn plant. It features a laminate Maple ElectroTone body with faux F-holes.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Anniversary 6124 Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1963

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Anniversary 6124 Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1963

Originally built between 1958 and 1972, the Gretsch Anniversary 6124 was the Sunburst version of the two-tone 6125 model, both based on the successful 6120 Chet Atkins model. In its first two years, the Anniversary 6124/6125 carried a single Filter ‘Tron humbucking pickup at the neck, but from 1961 a single coil Hi-Lo ‘Tron was used. The basic structure or bones of the Gretsch Anniversary 6124 is very similar to the 6120, with a fully hollow, 16 inch wide body using parallel tone bar bracing and no sound post.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Country Club G6196TCG Cadillac Green, 2005

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Country Club G6196TCG Cadillac Green, 2005

The Gretsch Country Club, model G619x, appeared in 1954 as a rebrand of the ‘Electro II’, itself built from 1951 to 1953. There were three ‘619x’ versions and the ‘x’ indicated the colour. 6192 was sunburst, 6193 natural or Blonde and 6196 the Cadillac Green finish seen here. Intended to sit at the top of the Gretsch line, this model aimed to convert ‘classic’ archtop players so the top was carved Spruce, rather than laminated Maple, often used for feedback rejection.

SOLD! Gretsch '59 Silver Jet G6129T-59 Silver Sparkle

The Gretsch ’59 Silver Jet is a very cool guitar, with all the late-50’s trappings – Bigsby, TV Jones Classic Filter’Tron based pickups, and a standout silver sparkle finish! The Gretsch Jet is an under-rated guitar, but has appeared on many hit recordings. Chet Atkins used one on many classic recordings, and the first few Beatles albums feature George Harrison with his Jet.
