❌SOLD❌ Martin M38 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1977

The Martin M38 uses Martin’s largest non-dreadnought body design, sometimes called the ‘0000’ body because of its size and balanced shape. Martin’s M body draws from a guitar built for David Bromberg by Matt Umanov in the 1960s, which itself is a flat-top conversion of a Martin F-7, an archtop model built between 1935 and 1939, and from 1941 into 1942. The M38 was built from 1977 to 1997, as the 0000-38 from 1997 to 1998, and again as the M38 from 2007 to 2011. Currently Martin builds the M36 as a standard model.

❌SOLD❌Gibson Hummingbird Square Shoulder Dreadnought Sunburst, 1967

Immediately popular particularly with singer-songwriters and carrying a distinctive hand-painted pickguard, the Hummingbird was used on many popular recordings, sometimes to surprising results. For example, The Rolling Stones’ ‘Street Fighting Man’ features a Hummingbird recorded on an overdriven Philips cassette recorder, with Charlie Watts using a portable practice kit. Other recordings, like ‘Angie’,  record the Hummingbird more conventionally.

Eastman DT30D Double Top Dreadnought

Eastman DT30D Double Top Dreadnought

We’re happy to present the Eastman DT30D Double Top, part of Eastman’s new line of double-top steel string guitars – a technology that till now has mostly been limited to high end classical instruments. The double top concept aims to allow a very thin, light and responsive top but with superior strength and stiffness. Here, thin layers of Sitka Spruce are bonded to a honeycomb Nomex core. Nomex is a Kevlar polymer and helps provide significant improvements in stiffness to weight ratios.
