❌SOLD❌ Taylor Baritone-6 CW Acoustic Guitar, 2006

❌SOLD❌ Taylor Baritone-6 CW Acoustic Guitar, 2006

Taylor baritone guitars are designed for playing in a lower register with normal string tension, thanks to a longer 27-inch scale length. Tuned to B (B E A D F# B), the deeper acoustic tone is voiced with the GS body shape and a wood combination of either Indian rosewood or mahogany with Sitka spruce. The deeper tonal voice will appeal to singer-songwriters and other players who favor playing in a lower register. The baritone also blends well with other instruments, adding a different sonic texture to create a rich, ensemble sound.

❌SOLD❌ Guild Starfire IV Thinline Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1977

❌SOLD❌ Guild Starfire IV Thinline Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1977

The Guild Starfire IV first appeared in 1963 as a semi-solid version of the Starfire I, II and III think hollow models dating to 1960. The Starfire V and V I models were further upgrades, with extra binding and inlay. Obviously taking cues from the ES-335, the Guild Starfire IV featured a body of Maple or Mahogany laminate and matching center block and neck with rosewood fingerboard. In the 1970’s some differences started to creep in. Most of the Starfire IV models have a bound rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers.

❌Sold❌ Gibson ES-175 Cutaway Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1969

❌Sold❌ Gibson ES-175 Cutaway Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1969

The Gibson ES-175 cutaway came onto the scene in 1949 as a single pickup archtop with a sharp florentine cutaway and Maple laminate body construction. The most popular electric archtop at the time was the ES-150, with carved spruce top and carved Maple back. The laminate construction of the new ES-175 was not only more affordable, but also offered better feedback resistance.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch White Falcon G6126TLH Left Handed Archtop, 2005

It’s unusual enough to run across the Gretsch White Falcon, but to see one with 1950’s style Trestle bracing AND Left Handed is another thing entirely! Originally created as a showpiece for the annual winter 1955 NAMM music trade show in Anaheim, California, the Gretsch White Falcon received an unexpected level of interest – and orders.

❌Sold❌ Bourgeois Slope D Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2003

❌Sold❌ Bourgeois Slope D Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2003

Bourgeois guitars also tend to have relatively high neck angles, so there is more saddles exposed. In the short term, this means a bit more volume from the steeper angle of the string back to the pin. In the long term, it means that the guitar isn’t likely to need a neck reset for quite some time. Most steel string guitars will over time require a reset, and this can be an expensive proposition. Bourgeois seems to be taking a longer view with the higher angle.
