❌SOLD❌ Hofner Club Bass Cavern Spacing, Amber Burst 2018

Instrument Categories: , ,

The Hofner Club Bass, the 500/2, was introduced in 1964 as an option to the spectacularly successful 500/1 Violin Bass, by that time more commonly known as the Beatle Bass. It has the traditional Hofner low end but with a slightly fuller tone. Using a 30 inch scale and fairly narrow 1.54 inch nut width, and a light 2.1 kg, the Club Bass is very comfortable and versatile.

This new Hofner Club Bass offers a couple of special features. The top and back are nicely flamed, and the bass is finished in an amber shaded varnish. The pickups are placed in ‘Cavern Spacing’, meaning the neck and middle positions are used. While this seems counter intuitive, it’s done because in the bridge position, signal can be fairly weak, and those pickups are often not used. The middle position gets a much stronger signal from the strings.

The original Hofner hard shell case is included.
