Many folks associate the name with high quality steel string guitars, but the Larrivee RS-04 was for a time the top end of Larrivee’s electric line. During the 1980’s, the company focused heavily on electrics, and still offer a few models.
This Larrivee RS-04 Mahogany sports a GoldTop finish and dates to October 29, 2009 and is in overall very good condition with only very light wear. This model merges two proven formulas. The body is Honduran Mahogany capped with a thick, carved Maple layer, with Mahogany for the neck and Indian Rosewood for the bound fingerboard. The scale length is as used on most of Larrivee’s steel string and classical models – 650mm, or 25.59 inches. The fingerboard sports Mother of Pearl block inlays with Abalone inserts.
For hardware, a set of Schaller minis with Ebony buttons are at the head and a TonePros bridge and stop tailpiece at the body. The pickups are Lollar Imperials, matched with top quality components throughout the signal chain. The truss rod adjuster is hidden under a small rubber plug at the body end of the fingerboard.
