This just came through the door – a brand new, Martin D-28 Authentic 1937. These incredible instruments feature an herringbone bound, Adirondack red spruce top with hand-scalloped forward shifted X-braces, and are authentic recreations of the 1937 specifications, but with Madagascar in place of Brazilian rosewood. The mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard with the standard 25.4 inch scale length, 1.75 inch nut width and a vintage profile.

A vintage tint has been added to the lacquer finish, so the binding doesn’t look brand new. Waverly tuners and bone nut and saddle set off the hardware.

The results are astonishing. The range of this guitar is immense, with deep lows, rich mids, and crystal clear high end. And that’s with the guitar just out of the case and not played in at all!
