DISCONTINUED!!! Ramirez 4 NE / Estudio 3 Guitarras de Estudio

Instrument Categories: , , ,

Please note!  The Ramírez 4 NE is out of production and has been superseded by the Estudio 3.   We’re maintaining this post for reference purposes.

The Ramirez 4 NE – Estudio 3 Model Guitarras de Estudio is the top ‘production’ model from Ramírez. Based on the of the 1990s model E series guitars, developed from designs conceived by Jose Ramírez III,  Amalia Ramírez created the NE models as an affordably priced, all-solid-wood instrument for the serious student of classical guitar.

The Ramirez 4 NE – Estudio 3 Model Guitarras de Estudio features all solid wood construction, an asymmetrical six top-strut fan brace pattern, a unique custom soundhole mosaic rosette and custom Ramírez label. The headstock shape is the standard modern pattern associated with Ramírez guitars.

AAA Red Cedar top is the tone-wood chosen for this guitar to give it the voice and flavour of the Ramírez Traditional 1a model: the benchmark professional concert guitar of the classical guitar world.

The Red Cedar married with the Ramírez special fan brace pattern promotes a powerful bass response without compromising the clarity of the treble range.

The design features are uniquely Ramírez in decoration, tone, and quality of sound and materials. The designed by Amalia Ramírez and inspected and adjusted in her workshop by her craftsmen under her personal supervision.

These reasonably priced Ramirez Spanish guitars enjoy great popularity. They remain our most popular choice for serious students of classical guitar; a reflection of the consistently excellent tone and workmanship of these superb guitars.

Price includes the Italian made Ramírez case and full setup according to our workshop standards.

Setup For New Ramírez guitars

We carefully inspect and setup all new Ramirez guitars to ensure that they are in perfect working order.  Generally the “factory action” is in the range of 8/64 inches treble to 8.5/64 inches bass, which is in the normal range of standard classical “concert” action height for players using typical classical right hand technique and an aggressive light right-hand attack.

Nut height – we always adjust the nut slots to our preferred settings.

We will do any setup adjustments the purchaser requires and install new strings of their choice for no extra cost.

If you are playing in the Latin jazz style with free-stroke right hand technique and don’t anticipate using an aggressive rest stroke, then we would advise that we lower the action before shipping. If you are an aggressive player, then I would recommend staying with the current “standard” action height.

It is a given that we will setup any guitar we sell to suit the player.

It is best if you can provide as much information as possible about your playing style so we can make an informed decision on how to setup the guitar:

  • Your right hand picking attack
  • Free stroke vs. rest-stroke
  • Classical right hand position vs. Chet or Latin style hand position
  • Your estimation of your normal action height on your current guitars (low vs. medium or high)
  • and anything else that will help us to setup your guitar appropriately.

Due to international agreements, new Ramírez guitars cannot be shipped to the USA.
There are no shipping restrictions on used Ramírez or on any other new or used guitars.
