The Schecter E1 SLS Elite is Schecter Guitar Research’s take on the outrageous but instantly recognisable Gibson Explorer style body shape, with some influences from the Ibanez Iceman in the mix. This guitar shape basically screams rock and roll!

Their version makes some subtle aesthetic changes to the silhouette but the major differences are in the feature sets and ergonomics. The body is made of swamp ash which is generally a fairly light weight wood. That is important for maintaining a comfortable playing weight with a guitar as large as this. There is a back body contour which allows the guitar to sit against your body more comfortably then just a straight edge. The flame maple top tops it off for an eye catching look with the black fade burst finish.

The neck through construction provides a seamless connection to the body and makes reaching the 24th fret a breeze. An ultra slim neck profile and extra jumbo stainless steel frets are made for fast playing and wide bends.

The tonal center of the Schecter E1 SLS Elite is provided by a set of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers, which are an active ceramic pickup. Fishman Fluence pickups use a new active core technology that doesn’t rely on copper wire winding like traditional humbuckers. This allows them to be free of the hum, noise and inductance issues that are common with even the most coveted wire wound pickups. This also allows them to have two separate voices for a wider tonal pallet. Voice one is an active ceramic tone with crisp searing crunch, tight bass with no muddiness and a growl. Voice two has a more passive ceramic feel with organic high output and excellent distortion characteristics, dynamics and response.
