Sorenson Companion Custom banjos have been made since 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Chris and Stephanie Sorenson. As with many banjo and guitar builders, the Sorensons started with a love for music and craftsmanship. All Companion banjos are custom ordered, so they reflect the requirements of the player.
For this 2017 Sorenson Companion custom banjo, the original order specified that the logo on the headstock read ‘Sorenson’ rather than ‘Companion’. It also has a Maple block rim and wooden tone ring, so it is considerably lighter than many banjos at 9 pounds – that’s comparable to many Les Pauls and Stratocasters. Flame Maple is also used for the resonator and neck, with Ebony for the fingerboard and head plate. The inlay set is a classic ‘Flying Eagle’ pattern in Mother of Pearl.
This banjo is in excellent condition with only the slightest wear.
The original TKL hard shell case is included.
