❌SOLD❌ Taylor 556ce 12 String Guitar, 2014

Instrument Categories: , , ,

The Taylor 556ce 12 string guitar gives a good illustration of how Taylor became one of the prominent builders of 12-strings. They sound great and play very well, but also Taylor’s unique neck joint makes the inevitable neck reset a simple matter of maintenance.

Using the same type of comfortable neck profiles as their six-string guitars, but naturally a bit wider, the Taylor 556ce 12 is a breeze to play.

In terms of construction, the Taylor 556ce uses a Lutz Spruce top paired with tropical Mahogany for the sides, back, neck and body blocks. The bridge, head plate and bound fingerboard are Ebony. Naturally, the Taylor Expression System 2 pickup and preamp set are installed.

This example dates to September 2, 2014 and was built at the Taylor plant in El Cajon, California. It is in good clean condition with no appreciable scuffs or dents. Fret and finish wear are minimal. This guitar plays very well, and has the characteristic full, rich, chimey yet powerful sound associated with full size 12-strings.

The original hard shell case is included.

Here is the builder on the Taylor 556ce 12 string guitar:

“Taylor’s sleek, easy-playing necks make for an incredibly smooth 12-string experience. The 556ce features mahogany back and sides with a top of Lutz spruce, a natural hybrid of Sitka and White spruce that resembles Adirondack spruce in its robust tonal output.

The wood combo, together with the Grand Symphony body and Taylor’s internal Performance bracing, will yield a wonderfully balanced 12-string voice that blends tonal power, depth and articulation into a dynamic package that’s equally responsive to a light or lively strumming attack.

A Venetian cutaway offers easy access to the guitar’s upper register octave shimmer, while Taylor’s proprietary Expression System® 2 electronics parlay all that musical detail into a well-defined amplified 12-string sound.
Appointments include faux tortoise shell binding and pickguard, a rosette of faux tortoise shell framed by grained ivoroid, and a grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlay.”
