❌SOLD❌ Taylor 618e Grand Concert Steel String Maple, 2011

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

The Taylor 618e brings to mind the classic jumbo maple guitars used by top artists, and delivers a full, rich tone with lots of clarity and definition.

Built using Taylor’s largest body shape like the jumbo Guilds and Gibson J-200 models, the 618e pairs a Sitka Spruce top with flamed Maple for the back, sides, and neck. Ebony is used for the bridge and bound fingerboard and headplate. The Taylor logo and fingerboard inlays are Mother of Pearl, and the linings, neck and tail blocks are Mahogany. The rosette contains a Puau shell ring. Metal hardware is gold plated. This is an ‘e’ model, so it’s electrified with the Taylor Expression System. It does not have the ‘c’, so it’s not a cutaway.

This example dates to 2011 and is in very nice shape. The finish is clean, and any scuffing is very minor. There is light fret wear, so this guitar has been played, but also very well looked after.

The original brown Taylor hard shell case is included.

Here’s what Taylor says about the current versions of the 618e:

“Taylor’s Grand Orchestra is the guitar equivalent of a grand piano, boasting a big, complex voice with a wonderfully dynamic response. (…). Protein glues and an ultra-thin gloss finish minimize dampening.

(…)

Featured appointments include grained ivoroid Wings fretboard inlays, an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, an ebony/ivoroid rosette, and a striped ebony pickguard, along with Taylor’s Expression System® 2 acoustic electronics. The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case.”
