The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

❌SOLD❌ Taylor 712 with Fishman Pickup, 1997

Instrument Categories: , ,

Here’s a lovely Taylor 712 from 1997, before pickups were stock, and it’s a very nice guitar for fingerstyle playing – well rounded with full, evenly balanced tone. It’s had a Fishman Matrix pickup professionally installed, with the controls tucked under the bass edge of the soundhole.

The Taylor 712 in this form is no longer available. The 712 is now mostly presented as the Taylor 712 ce, for Cutaway Electric, and most often in 12-fret neck format, with slotted peghead. However, the construction has the same basis in the Grand Concert body, roughly equivalent to a Martin OOO body size. It features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, Mahogany for the body blocks, linings and neck, and Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. The tuners are Grover Roto-Matic models.

This Taylor 712 example uses a 14 fret neck, and was built during 1997 at the Taylor shop in El Cajon, California. It’s in good shape with one minor crack in the back near the middle of the tail block. Originally shipped as a straight acoustic model, a Fishman Matrix was added with the output jack through the tail.

This Taylor  712 guitar is in good working order with moderate fret wear and light finish wear. It’s really nice to play, particularly for fingerstyle, offering and delivering an even, balanced tone with sparkling top end.

The original Taylor molded case is included.
