❌SOLD❌ Taylor 810 Dreadnought Steel String Natural, 1996

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , , ,

The Taylor 810 Dreadnought Steel String first appeared in 1975 was discontinued around 2015 in the shift to the 810e, a very similar model with the ES2 pickup system. The 810e itself was discontinued just a few years ago. The 810 is roughly equivalent to the classic Martin D-28 model.

Based on the traditional Dreadnought design, the Taylor 810 pairs a Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood for the sides, back and head plate. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. This example dates to April 12th 1996, so it uses a Dovetail for the neck to body joint and has ivoroid binding – Maple was used in later models. The tuners are gold-plated Grover Roto-Matics. This guitar is in overall good condition, with no factory electronics. Fret wear is light, and the finish is in good shape with light natural checking and a developing amber tint.

The original hard shell case is included.

Here’s the builder on the Taylor 810 Dreadnought:

“The rosewood/spruce Taylor 810 brings tone-enhancing refinements to the traditional steel-string Dreadnought, blending driving low-end power with a vibrant upper register for a turbo-charged flatpicking machine. Bluegrassers will love the strong, crisp top-end punch in any picking circle, with robust projection across the entire tonal spectrum. Premium appointments include maple binding and back strip, rosewood top edge trim, rosewood pickguard, mother-of-pearl Element fretboard inlay, and smoky ebony fretboard.”
