❌SOLD❌ Taylor 814ce Steel String Guitar, 1999

The Taylor 814ce has been a mainstay of the Taylor line for some years, with a classic Spruce and Rosewood paring on the cutaway Grand Auditorium body.

Here we have an older Taylor 814ce, built during 1999 at the Taylor shop in El Cajon, California. It features a Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and headplate, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. (This guitar was built before Bob Taylor entered into an ownership arrangement for the Crelicam ebony mill in Cameroon). Metal hardware is gold plated, and inlays are a combination of Mother of Pearl, Abalone and Paua shell. The original Fishman pickup and preamp have been replaced by an Expression System unit, with the controls in the side-mounted Fishman box.

This guitar is in overall good condition with minimal fret wear, and plays very nicely. There are a few small dents and dings in the finish – this guitar has been used as intended. The finish is sinking with age. Some time ago, a small crack appeared in the back and this was repaired in our shop. It took very close examination to find it!

The original Taylor hard shell case is included.
